MP4 is the most compatible video container — every device, every browser, every player handles it. This endpoint forces MP4 output even when the source platform serves a different format (.webm, .mov, .mkv).

Any platform Instag supports for video. If the video downloader works on a URL, the MP4 endpoint does too — they share the same extractor.

When the source is already MP4, Instag passes it through untouched — no quality loss. When the source is a different container (e.g. WebM), there's a one-time remux but no re-encode, so quality is preserved.

Save the file to your phone's Camera Roll (iOS) or Downloads folder (Android). The default Photos / Files app plays MP4 natively, no extra app required.

Instag doesn't include an editor — the MP4 you get is the full source clip. Open in any free editor (iMovie, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve) to trim afterwards.
